Social Justice Fellowship
The Social Justice Fellowship is an income enhancement and job training program specifically designed to address the barriers faced by transgender individuals in accessing long-term employment opportunities. Through this innovative program, fellows receive a monthly stipend of $3,000 during a 6 month period, enabling them to focus on their professional development without financial barriers. Beyond financial support, fellows learn technical and soft skills, as well as basic computer literacy- essential for success in the workplace.
An integral aspect of the Social Justice Fellowship lies in its focus on mentorship and peer support. Fellows are provided with the chance to shadow and gain insights from experienced transgender and gender nonconforming professionals, nurturing a sense of community and assistance. Additionally, fellows collaborate with our community partners to integrate a professional development component, aiding in the pursuit of personal and career objectives. By the conclusion of the fellowship, they are empowered with the essential skills to pursue sustainable employment opportunities.
In creating this program, our team focused on centering the lived experiences of Black and Brown transgender women. By prioritizing their voices and needs, the program aims to create meaningful pathways to life stabilization and economic empowerment.
Our team is excited to announce the launch of the next iteration of the fellowship program in the coming months. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed about the application process and upcoming opportunities to join our team!
